Bethany Community Ministries is a faith based non profit whose mission is transforming lives through service. They do this through a number of programs such as their Masters Kitchen that helps to address food insecurity. The senior care coordination program provides vaccines and health screenings to underserved communities and populations. Bethany also has a summer camp and a shawl project that made masks at the beginning of the pandemic. Bethany is a wealth of resources and connects services to many underserved communities.

Crystal Lake in McHenry County has a growing drug misuse problem. In 2018, there were at least 51 drug overdose deaths in McHenry County, which was more than double the number in 2011. The also provide payee services to individuals who experience housing instability but may need the additional support of a housing program.
