Looking for some good backtesting software options without breaking the bank

It turns out I need to significantly improve my backtesting capabilities for my forex trading strategies. I've been using a basic simulator that came with my trading platform, but it's really limited and doesn't offer the depth of analysis I need to properly vet my ideas. I'm looking for a more robust backtesting software, ideally something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, but still provides accurate historical data and useful features. Are there any affordable options that people here have had good experiences with? I don't want to invest in something expensive if there are perfectly good budget-friendly alternatives.

This article discusses several options for a forex simulator and backtesting platforms that could offer more advanced features and a modern interface. It's a great resource for strategy development as it details capabilities, pros, and cons to help you find the best fit for your trading needs without overspending.
