Apply for Pennsylvania Primary Care Loan Repayment Program

Applications are now being accepted for Pennsylvania’s Primary Care Loan Repayment Program administered by the PA Dept of Health. The deadline to submit the online application is Wednesday, January 12, 2022.


Qualified applicants must have an employment contract with an approved practice site and eligible loans for repayment, among other eligibility requirements. Full and half-time two-year contracts will be awarded, up to $80,000 for full-time physicians, dentists, and psychologists and up to $48,000 for full-time physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, dental hygienists, social workers, therapists, and counselors.


Grantees will be selected within 8 weeks of the submission deadline. Consideration for awards will include community need, Pennsylvania residency, graduation from Pennsylvania educational institutions, attainment of a health professions license within the past 10 years, experience at the current practice site, and a connection to the community where the applicant is practicing.


Questions about the Request for Applications must be submitted in writing via email to loanrepayment@pa.gov by noon on December 15, 2021. Answers to all questions will be posted on the loan repayment webpage on or before December 29, 2021. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason.
