The Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health is holding two virtual lunch and learn webinars on combatting human trafficking. Sessions will be held on Sept. 4 and Sept. 18 from noon to 1pm.
The Sept. 4 session will focus on the role of medical intervention in human trafficking and sex trafficking. It will be led by Dr. Jennifer Wilcox, founder of Jamestown (NY) Wellness and Forensic Center, a medical clinic that focuses on helping victims of sexual assault, physical violence, sex trafficking, and human trafficking.
The Sept. 18 session will describe a rural Pennsylvania hospital’s journey to educate all employees regarding human trafficking, with an emphasis on targeted education to high-risk areas such as the emergency department. It will be led by Kendra Aucker, President and CEO of Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, PA.
The registration fee is $25 for each session. Attend both sessions and receive a discount for the Rural Human Trafficking Summit on October 1, 2024.
